L'Arc ~ en ~ Ciel, an homage to Japanese music group consisting of J-Rock Hyde (vocals), Ken (guitar), Tetsu (bass), and Yukihiro (drums). Founded by Tetsu in February 1991, the name of L'Arc ~ en ~ Ciel, which means 'rainbow' is taken from the title of a French movie ever watched by Tetsu.

Debuting in 1991, Laruku, so the band is called, successfully selling over 28 million albums and singles. They are included in the list of Top 100 Japanese pop musicians and was ranked 58th. They also include the most influential artists in the Japanese music scene.

Before the formation of Hyde, Tetsuya, Ken and Yukihiro, the band consisted of Hiro (guitar), and Pero (drums). They both resigned a year after the band stand. Pero then replaced by Sakura until 1997.

CAREER
Laruku first album was released on 10 April 1993. In DUNE titled album they still perform as an indie band. The album later reached the top of the stairs on the Oricon Indies Chart in May 1993. In just 3 months, the album has sold 20,000 pieces CD.

L'Arc ~ en ~ Ciel then got a job performing in concert indie bands Kari Masho Naru held at Shibuya Kokaido. Shown in front of 2000 spectators making Laruku popularity even more uphill. They then decided to move to Tokyo in September 1993.

On July 1, 1994, their single video Nemuri Ni Yosete released. Following two weeks later, July 14, 1994 their second album TIERRA which is their first album was released major label. Today was the first day as well as a tour of Sense of Time.

Their third album, HEAVENLY released on 1 September 1995. For the first time they entered the Oricon album chart, the band's major label, right at the third position. In this album the music color change compared with the previous two albums. They become more mature musically.

Dated December 12, 1996, released their fourth album TRUE. The album is their most successful over the last five years of their careers. In the first week, the album won the runner-up position on the Oricon Chart, and at the sixth week managed to occupy the position of champion. This album lasted for 9 weeks in the top 10 on the Oricon Chart.

1997 was a nightmare for this band. In April of Sakura had thrown his part ownership of narcotics and illegal drugs. Sakura officially out of Laruku on November 4, 1997. In the midst of his splendor, Laruku had to be willing to cancel all touring plans and the launch of their new single.

Marked with a concert titled Reincarnation title held at the Tokyo Dome, L'Arc ~ en ~ Ciel again formally from the date of December 13, 1997. Laruku consists of three authorized personnel, namely Hyde (vocals), Tetsu (bass), Ken (guitar) and a drummer additional personnel in position, the official Yukihiro joined on January 1, 1998.

February 25, 1998 On their fifth album, HEART released, great album than capable of reaching the top of the Oricon chart, sales figures had reached 1 million copies in its first week.

On 20 June, the album was released ECTOMORPHED WORK. The album contains some songs L'Arc ~ en ~ Ciel previously that have been remixed by Yukihiro, and REAL next album on August 20, 2000.

L'Arc ~ en ~ Ciel later released the album that much-awaited, SMILE, on March 31, 2004. The next album, AWAKE was released in 2005. Their latest album Kiss, was released on 21 November 2007, topped the charts first in the number one position on the Oricon chart.

After that, they vacuum up to 2011. To celebrate their 20 years together, L'Arc ~ en ~ Ciel 20th L'Anniversary Concert held at Ajinomoto Stadium, Tokyo on 28-29 May, 2011. Although the concert was planned before the Great East Japan Earthquake, all proceeds from the concert donated to relief efforts tragedy.

Then L'Arc ~ en ~ Ciel held back by L'Anniversary Japan Tour was in 2011. They also plan to hold a World Tour for 2012, and marks the return from the vacuum.
